Cookie Policy

Effective date: 4 October 2026

This policy explains how Lobbi uses cookies and similar technologies on mylobbi.link (marketing site) and in.mylobbi.link (app). For how we use personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets a site remember data on your device. We use both where needed to run Lobbi and understand how the product is used.

This marketing site (mylobbi.link)

The marketing site uses PostHog to count visits and see which pages and campaigns are useful. When you first visit, a banner asks if you accept analytics cookies.

  • Before you choose, or if you decline: PostHog runs in a cookieless mode. It sets no cookies and stores no identifier in your browser. PostHog counts unique visitors with a hash that changes every day, so we do not build a profile of you.
  • If you accept: PostHog sets its ph_* cookie on .mylobbi.link. The cookie is shared with the Lobbi app, so we can see which page or campaign brought you to sign up.

Like any web request, PostHog receives your IP address and browser details. Session recording is turned off on this site.

Name / key Type Purpose Duration
ph_* Cookie / local storage Analytics, only after you accept Up to 1 year
__ph_opt_in_out_* Local storage Remembers your cookie choice Until you clear site data
lobbi_utm Session storage Keeps the campaign tags (for example utm_source) from the link you arrived on, so they go with you when you sign up in the app Until you close the tab

We load fonts from Google Fonts, which may set or read cookies or similar data according to Google’s privacy policy.

The Lobbi app (in.mylobbi.link)

When you sign in or use a lobby as a host or guest, the app may use the cookies and storage listed below.

lobbi:guest-key Local storage Stable anonymous identifier when a guest checks in without providing an email Until you clear site data
lobbi:guest-session:* Local storage Resume an in-progress wait after refresh without checking in again Until the visit ends or you clear site data

Functional — host app preferences

Name / key Type Purpose Duration
lobbi:activation-dismissed:* Local storage Remember that you dismissed the “Get your lobby live” checklist for a lobby Until you clear site data

Analytics — product usage (app only)

Name / key Type Purpose Duration
PostHog cookies (e.g. ph_*) Cookie / local storage Measure product usage (for example lobby created, guest check-in, admit actions) and diagnose errors Per PostHog’s policy

PostHog is configured on the app when environment keys are present. It may associate events with your account after you sign in. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How to control cookies and storage

You can:

  • Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies and site data
  • Sign out of the app to end your authenticated session
  • Clear site data for in.mylobbi.link to remove local storage keys

Blocking essential cookies or storage may prevent sign-in or guest check-in from working correctly.

Changes

We will update this page when our use of cookies changes. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
